It was not the typical first day of an Open Championship in terms of scoring. The lack of rain and strong winds were in big favor of the players and 73 of them played Royal St George's on par or better. There was no drastic change in the weather in the afternoon but definitely the players from the morning session posted more scores in the red numbers than the afternoon starters. There is plenty of golf to be played before the end of the 149th Open and it will be interesting if these three surprising contenders after day one can keep the moment in the next rounds.

Min Woo Lee claimed his first Rolex Series title after a
brilliant play-off victory over Thomas Detry and Matt Fitzpatrick and secured
his place at next week's Open Championship. This will be Lee's first appearance
in the oldest golf major, but if we take a look at the statistics, he shouldn't
expect a great week at Royal St George’s GC.

Some of the best female golfers on the planet will travel to Ohio this week for the 36th Marathon LPGA Classic presented by Dana. The first edition of the tournament was played in 1984 and since then it has been played every year except 1986 and 2011. This year Marathon LPGA Classic has a prize fund of $2,000,000 and will be played at Highland Meadows Golf Club as usual. Seven past champions will tee it up at the Marathon Classic this week including the defending champion Danielle Kang.

Die Golf Post Tour 2021 legte ihren vierten Halt im wunderschönen Golfclub Hösel am Rande von Düsseldorf. Für das aus Köln stammende Golf Post Team ein regelrechter Katzensprung und eine schöne Abwechslung zu den Reisen in weitere Ferner. Auch wenn die Atmosphäre bei Übernachtungen am Turnierort kaum zu überbieten ist. Dieses mal konnte unser Team aber am Turniertag selbst anreisen und die notwendigen Vorbereitungen vor dem Kanonenstart um 11 Uhr treffen.

caddie Tim Tucker are taking a break. Trucker has been on the bag for
DeChambeau for all eight of his wins, including the U.S. Open in 2020.

The Old American Golf Club is the next stop of the LPGA
Tour. This will be the ninth edition of Volunteers of America Classic and it
will be played only six months since the 2020 edition was contested. This year
the tournament features a 138-player field and it has a prize fund of
$1,500,000. The defending champion Angela Stanford will have the tough task to
defend her title against five of the previous tournament winners and several
players from the top ten in the world.

Als ich in Otelfingen ankam, fiel mir als erster Punkt der professionelle Pro-Shop auf. Ich konnte mich darin frei bewegen und die neuesten Produkte anschauen, und zwar in aller Ruhe. Auch muss ich meine Aussage korrigieren: Das Personal war sehr zuvorkommend und hat mich auch bei der Kleidung beraten, die von der Etikette verlangt werden. So weit ich mich erinnern kann, war es der User Marek, der mich völig zu Recht darauf hingewiesen hatte, dass das Green-Fee sehr moderat ist - er sprach sogar von einem Schnäppchen. Der Preis betrug 55 CHF.

Rocket Mortgage Classic is one of the youngest tournaments on the PGA Tour's calendar. The first edition of the event was in 2019 when Nate Lashley won by six over Doc Redman. This year the tournament has a prize fund of $7,500,00.
