The hotel is beautifully designed and offers plenty for families and singles/couples. The sauna and pool, for example, are very nicely and thoughtfully designed. The rooms can be booked according to individual needs, are spacious, clean, and also very attractive. The hotel's location is perfect for hiking and skiing (the bus stop for the ski area is right in front of the hotel). The staff (service, reception, housekeeping, kitchen, etc.) are all friendly, hardworking, and helpful. The food is very good and well-balanced. Be aware that you should expect to gain at least 2 kg (16 lbs) after a week's stay.

One of the best hotels we've ever stayed in.
The welcome was warm, everything was shown around, and we were escorted to our room.
The ambiance is exceptional. Every room is cozy and inviting.
The breakfast buffet leaves nothing to be desired. Every morning, the chef and his team are ready to prepare fresh eggs in all variations, tailored to the guests' wishes.
Dietary restrictions simply need to be mentioned in advance. This is no problem for the kitchen.
All the staff go to great lengths to make the guest experience as pleasant as possible.
The dinner, whether buffet or à la carte, is hard to beat in terms of taste and variety. These are true professionals. Great respect!
The rooms are cozy and beautifully furnished. The only drawbacks were the bathroom sliding door, which didn't close completely, and the lack of space to hang more than two towels.
In my opinion, the owner can't be held responsible for the hotel's poor sound insulation, but it is particularly bothersome when there are many children in the surrounding rooms.
The spa facilities are outstanding. Large pool with a separate children's area and slide. Plenty of sun loungers!
The sauna area is fantastic! There are two spacious whirlpools on the roof and a tranquil oasis on the upper floor with breathtaking views.
Skiers are also well catered for.
There's a ski storage room with individual lockers and, if you wish, a shuttle bus to the nearest ski area.
We would definitely recommend this hotel and will certainly be back.
Best regards, K+A, Room 18

We stayed at this hotel with our two children (1.5 years and 5 years old), and they upgraded our room to a larger one at no extra charge, with a wonderful exit to the shared terrace. We really loved the playground (there were areas both for very young children and older kids). The view from the hotel is simply stunning!
On the top floor, there is a jacuzzi and a small pool with warm water and a view of the mountains! The jacuzzi didn’t turn off even after 5 p.m. (we were there on Friday), so there was enough time for us and the kids. Afterwards, we went down to the indoor pool (also warm). There’s a great kids’ mini pool with a slide and a water play area, as well as access to the garden with sun loungers.
The dinner was delicious and the breakfast was excellent. The restaurant staff were polite and always ready to help.
The only downside(-) :
1) the children’s room was dirty (there were a lot of toys inside), but it felt like it hadn’t been cleaned in a long time.
2) And with such young children like our (under 3 years old), it’s better to seat families closer to the exit of the restaurant. Each room was assigned to a specific table (which meant you couldn’t just sit at any available table). Again, with small children, this is inconvenient.
We were seated in the very back of the restaurant. It would be better to offer a buffet dinner, as parents with very young children need to quickly find food, eat fast, and leave, since such little ones won’t let you sit peacefully. Waiting for food is not an option for young parents.
Otherwise, we really liked the hotel!

Our family had an absolutely incredible stay at Vitalhotel Sonnenhof, and we can’t recommend it highly enough!
Perfect Location for Skiing & Adventure
The hotel is in a fantastic location, just a 10-minute walk from the ski slopes, making it incredibly easy to get on the mountain each day. For added convenience, there’s a ski bus right outside, but the hotel also went above and beyond by arranging transport for us whenever we needed—a truly seamless experience that made skiing hassle-free.
Outstanding Food & Dining Experience
The food was fantastic and varied, catering to all tastes—even our fussy eater, Margo, always found something delicious to enjoy! The breakfast spread was excellent, with plenty of fresh, high-quality options, and dinner each night was beautifully prepared and full of flavour.
Perfect for Families
This hotel is exceptionally family-friendly. Our daughters loved the pool, making use of it every single day, and the thoughtful touch of children’s spa robes made them feel so special. The spa and wellness facilities are amazing, with Beth particularly enjoying the rooftop hot tub and swim spa, which offered breathtaking views and total relaxation.
Excellent Facilities & Personal Service
The well-equipped gym had everything we needed, and the level of service and hospitality at the hotel was truly next level. Special mention goes to Verina at reception, who co-owns the hotel with her father. She went above and beyond to make our stay memorable, organising an unforgettable evening for us—transport to the amazing restaurant Jezz, followed by night sledging down the mountain after dinner, which was a huge highlight of our trip!
An Unforgettable Experience
From start to finish, Vitalhotel Sonnenhof exceeded all expectations. The perfect mix of ski convenience, luxury, adventure, and warm hospitality, this hotel truly offers something special.
A huge thank you to the entire team for making our stay so memorable—we can’t wait to return!
