A truly amazing destination. Wonderful scenery, wonderful people, food and the safari was fantastic.
From the moment we arrived as a large family we were welcomed and taken care of. The rooms were generously sized and well equipped. The staff were wonderful. Our Safari guides were friendly, knowledgeable and kind. Ours were Kenny and Luwazi / and our other family members had Sibu and Bingo. They worked as a team and we saw everything and had a laugh whilst doing so. Gabby at front of house was also lovely.
The safari itself was incredible. The wildlife superb.
Very grateful to have spent time at this wonderful place and will leave truly special and cherished
Would highly recommend to all.
Thank you Phinda team.

Highly recommend.
This was the highest quality experience merging authentic luxury with the most beautiful and memorable of settings.
The staff were amazing coping with our dietary requirements and always so kind and courteous.
We came away with the impression that the staff deeply cared about the experience of their guests. That is a rare and wonderful quality. Keep it up!

By far the most luxurious and enjoyable trip of my life. From the second we arrived we were greeted with exceptional and kind service. Gareth welcomed us and provided a perfect rundown of what to expect for the stay. Muzi, our Butler, was AMAZING and took such good care of us. We were on our honeymoon and Muzi set-up a private, romantic dinner for us on one of our last nights. Our ranger (Simi) and spotter (Tokz) felt like family by the time we left. They had answers to every question we could possibly ask. They had a plan for every game drive and tailored the experience around making sure we saw what we wanted to see. Other highlights were G&Ts in the bush, the Boma dinner, and the surprise dinner in the Bush. I am dying to go back to this place.

First off, our guide and tracker team, Emma and Bethuel, were amazing and deserve 6+stars! They were knowledgeable and it really shows that they love what they do. We truly had an amazing experience and I can say that because of them, from a likely to return, we will definitely be returning and soon.
That being said, for others looking to visit Phinda for the first time, it may not be the best place to see all the big 5s. While there are quite a number of leopards living on the reserve, only a few are ok to be approached by the game vehicles so they were relatively harder to find. We did not have any issues with this as we already saw quite a few from our stay in Sabi Sands already. That being said, when we come back, I would prefer going to Phinda again rather than Sabi Sands simply because there are different types of habitats within the game reserve and higher variety of other animals there to see.
The service at the lodge was great as expected from &beyond. The food was good but way too much. The dinners with our guide at the Boma were one of our highlights of the trip and don’t forget to try to spot the bush babies on the rafters of the main dining area!
For the lodge itself, we stayed at the family suite. It was spacious and clean. It was way too big for our 4 person family as it can accommodate up to 4 adults and 4 children. My only complaint about it was my daughters’ side of the suite constantly smelled like cigarettes during the 4 days we were there. Not sure where it was coming from since no one in our family smokes.
All in all, we had a great time and would definitely recommend Phinda Mountain lodge for an unforgettable Safari experience!
