Ganter Hotel & Restaurant Mohren

Nice room, friendly and helpful staff. It's located on a very quiet island. It's a beautiful place to walk around, but you should also visit Konstanz (15min by car, but you can also go by boat or by bicycle). The restaurant serves good food, but It's a bit expensive. There are some other restaurants nearby. We didn't take breakfast, because we also felt it was too expensive. You can go to the nearby bakery, they have great stuff (Inselbäckerei Peter).

This combination, Ganter Hotel & Restaurant Mohren, is perfection. The hotel is great, awesome staff and beautiful rooms with nice furniture and a comfy bed. There are also little things like a bottle of water, an extremely silent fan, sewing kit and other stuff that perfect the arrangement. Awesome breakfast buffet as well, with lots of bread, cereals, cheese, cold cuts, fresh fruits. There's a large parking lot next to the hotel for guests to park. The hotel has a Spa as well with massages and other beauty programs. It is also located perfectly on the Reichenau, everything reachable within a few minutes. The Restaurant Mohren is a class for itself, absolutely stunning. Again, amazing staff who know their card to details and are great in suggesting combinations of dishes and wine. The dishes were done to perfection, everything on point. Reservation is recommended. So, you get a great Hotel, Spa and Restaurant all under one roof (so to speak), the perfect package.

I stayed at the Ganter Hotel & Restaurant Mohren 21-22 June 2022 and I can only say the one thing a hotel needs to fulfill it did not: A good night sleep. At the beginning of summer temperatures in the room were at 28-30 degrees Celcius (82-86 Fahrenheit) it was impossible to sleep. I cannot imagine when summer is there what its like. Terrible. There is no airconditioning and zero ventilation. After complaint at reception I was given some ventilator which my stacking tables I put in front of the window. Did not help. So, if you like a good cool room to sleep or relax during the day do NOT stay. I can only give it a 1 star but I would avoid at all cost during summer. But even in winter if heating is on there is no ventilation in room. Terrible for health. The staff did not care at all about me not being able to sleep. Just interested in the high room price. Regarding the furniture it was OK. The shower in the bathroom is useless if you are taller as 1.85 meters. You have to be kind of on your knees which doesnt work as its tiny. The restaurant is good however so if you are on reichenau island this is a food place to eat. I stay over 150 nights a year in hotels. I can only say to avoid this one. Then, the temperatur is cool through other ways either night temleraturs, good isolation etc. Not 30 degrees celcius. You should mention then that your rooms are so hot during summer. Also old buildings can have ventilation or aircon. If a hotel cannot offer me a night of sleep its 1 star. The restaurant was good yes, but yoi can eat there also if not staying. And, I do not portray you bad. I just tell my experience and it was terrible. Staff, at checkout I told that I had zero sleep and that you should not sell such rooms. The only andwer I got was “hmmmm”.

Very friendly staff, nicely designed hotel and garden, great breakfast area with garden and breakfast, room spacious, big TV, very low ceiling, humid and warm, less than average bathroom for a hotel of this kind

We are planning on having our wedding here this year so I can only talk about the service and it is very good. We also had a wine/menu tasting at which the food was extremely well prepared and the staff was very competent. The whole restaurant is nicely decorated and cozy, giving it an all around comfortable feel. The restaurant manager we meet with speaks English and German, has a calm demeanour and is experienced. I would definitely recommend this hotel and the restaurant.
