Marc Hammer secures his Asian Tour card after a dramatic playoff at Q-School in Hua Hin. Other Germans miss the cut.
The final stage of the Asian Tour Qualifying School (Q-School) at the Lake View Resort and Golf Club in Hua Hin, Thailand, concluded with 35 players earning their tour cards — including Germany’s Marc Hammer. After five intense days of competition, China’s Lin Yuxin topped the leaderboard, finishing at 16-under-par to lead the Q-School graduates. The left-hander closed with a 67 (-4), following rounds of 68–67–70–67, showcasing consistent form throughout the event.
Milestone moment for Lin Yuxin
Yuxin’s victory marks a significant milestone in the career of the highly regarded golfer. A two-time Asia-Pacific Amateur Championship winner (2017, 2019), he played collegiate golf at the University of Florida before turning professional in 2023. He has since competed on the PGA Tour Americas and select Korn Ferry Tour events. Yuxin admitted that mental struggles with his putting had held him back, saying, “I played well all season but had issues with the putter, especially in the summer. I worked hard on it in October and November, and my game has felt good again.” Reflecting on his journey, he added, “It’s been tough with lots of ups and downs. Honestly, I just had to stay patient. I’ve learned a lot since turning pro — it’s been a valuable experience.”
India’s Shaurya Bhattacharya followed closely behind, finishing second at 15-under-par. After four strong rounds (70–67–65–66), he stumbled slightly on the final day with a 72 that included four bogeys. Canadian Henry Lee secured third place at 14-under-par.

The battle for the final tour cards came down to a tense playoff, as twelve players tied at five-under-par for 28th place. Only eight cards remained, and after five playoff holes, eight players emerged victorious — including Germany’s Marc Hammer. The 27-year-old from Sandhausen delivered a steady performance throughout the week, culminating in a final-round 70 (-2). His earlier rounds of 71–67–72–70 kept him in contention, and his playoff success earned him a coveted Asian Tour card. Hammer has prior experience on the DP World Tour, where he posted three top-10 finishes last season.
Other German participants at the Q-School — Nicolas Horder (T93), Philipp Katich (T100), Wolfgang Glawe (T118), and Julius Kreutzer (T118) — failed to make the cut after the fourth round.
